IRAN CONFLICT & ARABIAN GULF MARKETS

Conflict today. Opportunity tomorrow. The smartest businesses are preparing now

Does this sound familiar?

If this describes your situation, we can help.

Your product may be world-class.
Your Gulf marketing may be costing you the sale

You invest significant money in Middle East exhibitions. The stand looks the part. The sales managers know their brief. But the prospects who seemed interested at the show aren’t returning your emails. And somewhere, a cheaper competitor just won a contract you should have had.

THE PROBLEM

Competitors are winning business that isn't theirs on merit

Lower price. Inferior design, engineering, expertise, or quality. Yet they keep appearing on approved vendor lists while you’re still chasing the same prospect six months after the show.

THE PATTERN

Warm leads go cold before your follow-up has a chance

A strong conversation at ADIPEC or Middle East Electricity. A business card. A promise. Then: silence. Your CRM tells the same story after every show.

THE SYMPTOM

Marketing spend keeps rising. Conversion doesn't follow

Stand space, logistics, hotels, staff time. The board wants justification. You’re running out of explanations that don’t point back at the marketing itself.

THE TRUTH

Gulf buyers are making judgements you aren't aware of

Every piece of collateral is evaluated against expectations you’ve never been briefed on. The gap is invisible to Western eyes. It is not invisible to Gulf buyers.

Price is rarely why you lose in the Gulf.
Perception is

If we could show you how to generate around 30% more customer engagement, make your brand 1.5× more likely to increase revenue, and boost conversion rates by up to 20% in Gulf markets — without changing your product, your pricing, or your sales team — would you want to know how?

If we could show you how to …

… would you want to know how?

Expansion plans derailed?

The conflict with Iran has disrupted Gulf business in unprecedented ways.

Trade shows postponed. Flights disrupted. But Vision 2030 hasn't stopped - it's merely paused

Exhibitions cancelled. Dubai Airport hit by drone attacks. The Strait of Hormuz effectively closed.

Your Gulf expansion plans are on hold. But here’s what hasn’t changed:

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 remains on track – 85% of initiatives completed or advancing. Even Dubai’s more mature economy is projected to grow 4.7% annually through the decade. Foreign investment continues flowing into the region.

The transformation hasn’t stopped. It’s paused.

And when stability returns, there will be an explosion of pent-up demand.

The question is: Will your Gulf-facing materials be ready?

British exporters have a deeper problem

Most Western companies entering Gulf markets are confident their branding and marketing materials will work.

After all, they work everywhere else.

But here’s what we’ve seen over 25 years in the region:

Big Western brands with proven track records consistently underperform in the Gulf — and never understand why.

The conversion rates are 30-40% below projections. The premium positioning doesn’t land. Foreign competitors they consider “inferior” are winning contracts.

The problem isn’t quality. It’s calibration.

And you can’t fix what you can’t see.

The cultural missteps that undermine trust. The design choices that quietly signal “outsider.” The details that resonate in London but fall flat in Riyadh.

These gaps are invisible to Western eyes — but obvious to Gulf decision-makers.

Now is the time to fix your presentation

Right now, while business is disrupted, you have something rare: time to prepare.

When business returns to normal, there will be a surge:

  • Delayed contracts rushing to completion
  • Postponed exhibitions rescheduled in clusters
  • Pent-up demand released all at once
  • Companies scrambling to make up for lost time

The winners won’t be the ones who waited.

They’ll be the ones who prepared.

Frequently asked questions

Good question! For starters, the annual cost of a full-time senior-level designer can now exceed £45,000, or $100,000 in the US, plus benefits (if you can find one available). And that’s not accounting for Arabic RTL (right-to-left) experience.

Aside from that, you may not always have enough work to keep them busy at all times, so you’re stuck paying for time you aren’t able to utilise.

Then you would also need to source professional Arabic translators and copywriters (human, not AI).

Adding in the cultural awareness and first-hand experience mecs has gained over 25 years in the Gulf, to replicate a comparable in-house team would be very difficult.

We understand you may not have enough design work to fill up our To-Do list. Perhaps you only have one or two design requests at the moment. That’s where pausing your subscription comes in handy.

Billing cycles are based on 31 day period. Let’s say you sign up and use the service for 21 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused and you’ll have 10 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.

Membership offers a ton of flexibility in how you request designs using Trello. Some common ways clients request designs is directly via Trello, sharing Google docs or wireframes, or even recording a brief Loom video (for those who prefer not to write their briefs out). Basically, if it can be linked to or shared in Trello, it’s fair game.

No worries! We’ll continue to revise the design until you’re 100% satisfied.

That’s fine. You can pause your subscription when finished and return when you have additional design needs. There’s no need to let the remainder of your subscription go to waste.
